Innoptec is a company specialized in the development, manufacturing, marketing of switchable optical films. The company is located within a technological park in Rovereto - Northern Italy, and is the sole European manufacturer of Liquid Crystals based electrically switchable films suitable to obtain so called “intelligent glasses”. These glasses, used mainly in internal architecture and fittings, can in few milliseconds switch from white translucent to transparent state under an electrical impulse, thus permitting to:
- control privacy in interior or semi-open architecture
- convert direct sunlight and sunrays into a comfortable, scattered light for living rooms
- to protect valuable goods from UV degradation (furniture, art goods)
The main applications of these switchable glasses are:
- partitions, doors in prestige offices, boats, homes
- windows, arches looking to patios and gardens
- shop windows, museum and exhibition cases for goods protection and for hide/show play
- in the opaque state to serve as bright retro projection screens
